Play this song loud at all times. I got the cd, now I need to get the long play vinyl. This song gets better and better everytime I play it. Greetings from USA……!!!!!
I agree, it’s not as strong a performance as you’d hope for, but that might be down to the paper-thin T.V. mix. Jim fares worst – there’s no bottom end, and his vocal is so far out in front it’s like he has to stand down to hear the band behind him. He sounds a little ‘precious’ in spots.
Still, there’s much to enjoy: although it’s thin, Charlie’s chords are fantastically melodic in this version. And listen to that little drum fill Gaynor throws in at 2:14-5. God, was he dextrous!
Great performance by Simple Minds. This song is a jewel. It took me almost like 20 years to find out who played it but it was really worth it. I will buy this LP Vinyl when I have the first chance. Thanks to PME2001 for an outstanding job on this material. I will share this information with my best friends. Thank You All…..!
this song kicks ass-tori

I won’t fight you on this
the lyrics look like those from Ghostdancing.
My mind is traveling all around the globe wishing all mothers a Happy Mother’s Day today 5/10/09. Greetings from LA. CA. USA…..
I hav just realised how much like Ghostdancing that is.
This is actually one of my favourite live vids I’ve seen, Mr Burchill really gives it a real melody you don’t get on the album version.

Thank youuu !!!!
I have seen them LIVE when there just appeared in “John Peeles Music”
In a sportshall with about 500 spectators
Awesome-
I’m not so fund of this life version, but the song is stunningly good…and pure disco even if “fans” won’t like that
Magic!
Absolutely awesome – this was well before I got into them (about 1985 I took interest)but on this showing they look like they were at their best here.
PS The crowd is a bunch of stiffs. How could you stay still to one of the Minds’ best dance tunes?
Fantastic! The sound in particular is tremendous. Such an awesome song from when the band absolutlely kicked ass. Thanks for posting!
